DETENTION PROCEDURE – HIGH SCHOOL

GENERAL
For all warning letters issued the student will be required to attend a Saturday morning Principal’s detention.

Detention will run from 08:30 to 10:30.

Failure to attend this detention will result in a 50-point demerit and the student will incur a severe sanction.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL.

The Principal may at any time, request a student to leave Marist Brothers Linmeyer, if they feel it is in the best interest of the school and/or student.
ACCUMULATED LOSS OF DEMERIT POINTS (Level 1 – 3 offences)
POINTSACTION
20Parents will be notified via e-mail
40Parents will be emailed and a warning letter will be issued.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
80Disciplinary Hearing with Grade Heads and 2nd warning letter will be issued.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
120Disciplinary Hearing with an external chairperson and final warning letter issued.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POINTS (Level 4 – 7 offences)
POINTSACTION

(level 4 - single offence)
Parents will be notified via e-mail
30
(level 5 - single offence)
Parents will be called in for an interview with the Grade Heads

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
40
(level 6 - single offence)
Disciplinary Hearing with Grade Heads and a warning letter will be issued.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
50
(level 7 – single offence)
As for 50 (single offence), at the Principal’s discretion Level 7 offences will be treated with sanction.

STUDENT MAY BE REQUESTED TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL
