Grade 10 -12 | FET Phase
Our aim at Marist Brothers Linmeyer is to help develop successful, young adults with integrity, who make a difference to their society and country.
During the FET phase, students can be faced with some of their toughest challenges as they prepare for life after school.
We offer an extensive programme combining Spiritual, Academic, Cultural Activities and Sporting Activities, giving students a wide range of subjects and Extra-Curricular activities to choose from.
The Importance of Subject Choices
At the end of Grade 9, students are required to choose three elective subjects in conjunction with four compulsory subjects in order to have the minimum 7 subjects required to obtain a National Senior Certificate in Grade 12, these specifications are according to the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum and examinations that we follow.
The decision regarding what to study or the type of career path to follow can be a daunting process. The challenge lies in carefully selecting subjects that will compliment, and enable, future career choices.
Correct subject combination is essential to ensure access to Tertiary studies.
The Marist Brothers Linmeyer Advantage
All Marist Brothers Linmeyer students have access to our School Psychologist, and qualified educators who can assist with identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses. All students are provided with the opportunity to write psychometric tests that are administered by our qualified staff. These tests assist with identifying potential career paths and the advised subject choices.
