EXTRA-CURRICULAR AWARDS POLICY

It is the aim of Marist Brothers Linmeyer to establish transparent, equal and achievable criteria.

PREREQUISITE CRITERIA

  • Attitude
  • Attendance at practices and matches
  • Dress Code
  • Sportsmanship
  • Behaviour
  • Must be a good ambassador for the school at all times
Blue BadgeOne year full participation; having attended 80% of practices and matches.
Silver BadgeTwo year’s full participation; having attended 80% of practices and matches.
Gold BadgeThree year’s full participation; having attended 80% of practices and matches.
Junior HonoursSame criteria as Half Colours, excluding the number of year’s participation. This may be awarded to Grade 8 and Grade 9 students. This award does not count towards an Honours or Colours Blazer.
Marist Award of Exceptional ServiceAwarded to a Grade 12 student who has 5 year’s full participation; having attended 80% of practices and matches.
Half ColoursIn order for a student to achieve Half Colours in any activity they must have 3 year’s full participation and a certain level of skill development needs to have been achieved. This would be specific times, scores, selections or winning specific graded leagues – depending on the extra-curricular activity. The specific details can be found in the Policies for each Activity. Criteria for badges must also be met. 
Full ColoursIn order for a student to achieve Full Colours in any activity they must have 4 year’s full participation and a higher level of skill development and proficiency needs to have been achieved. In most cases, students will be required to qualify with provincial scores and/or represent their province after selection for trials. Criteria for badges must also be met.
NOTE: Half Colour and Full Colour Awards are not given for long service in any activity.
