MARIST BROTHERS LINMEYER

Rafaella Bertacco – Class of 2018

My Personal Experience of Lockdown.

Starting off my second year of studies, I knew that this year was going to be more of a challenge. However, having to study during a global pandemic and a lockdown, was something I would have never imagined doing.

I have been fortunate enough that, my lockdown experience did not have a very big impact on my life. The were no big changes that I had to make, besides adjusting to my new college schedule. Within a week my college had managed to get our classes up and running online and I was privileged enough to pick up from where we had left off. The only real change is that I no longer need to sit in traffic to get to my lectures and can get out of bed and be online in 2 minutes.

With having my lectures online and having more time to do work during the day, I have been able to help work on some of the DIY projects around my home in my free time.

One of the few things that I have missed during the lockdown is getting to spend time with my friends and go out. I unfortunately had to spend my birthday during lockdown and although I did have my family to spend it with, it would have felt more special if I could have spent it with some of my friends too. It has been good being able to spend time with my family during the lockdown, however I miss being able to socialise and interact with people and friends from college and in everyday life. I can positively say that my lockdown experience has been interesting, but definitely has not bad.
