Mrs Mordt tries to instil our founder, St. Marcellin’s Champagnat’s 10 Attitudes and 5 Characteristics and the Works of Mercy in her students. Although Life Sciences and Wildlife are clearly her passion, Mrs Mordt is also qualified to teach Geography and Physical Education. During her free time, Mrs Mordt likes to Read, do Yoga and Pilates and has a keen interest in plants. Her favourite quote is her old school motto – “Procrastination is the thief of time” and also “Go placidly amongst the noise and haste and remember what peace there is in silence,” by Max Ehrmann.
The Catholic ethos and family history attracted Mrs Mordt to our School, since her grandfather came to this country from Germany as a Marist Brother. Positive, strong, yet kind and giving people inspire Mrs Mordt. Her main inspiration is drawn from God. Some interesting facts that people may not know about Mrs Mordt: she swam the Midmar Mile race 10 years in a row, she can still stand on her head, she went on Pilgrimage in 2011 and she is a survivor of the big “C” and has been in remission since 2011.
