MARIST BROTHERS LINMEYER

Mr Nicholas Quail

Mr Quail joined Marist Brothers Linmeyer in 2016. He has a passion for History that he passes on with much enthusiasm to his enthralled audience of Grade 9, 11 and 12 students. The students’ eagerness to attend Mr Quail’s History lessons is a delight to behold. He instills a Love of Work and the ability to think beyond what seems to be the truth of the digital age, in his students. His passion for History led him to study and obtain an Honours degree in History from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007. His undergraduate subjects covered Business, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology and Archaeology. He also qualified with a Post Graduate Business Management and Administration Diploma from Wits Business School in 2009.

Mr Quail is a military historian and he has written a dissertation on Anglo-Afrikaner conflict during World War II. He is passionate about History, outdoors sport and competitive shooting. His favourite quote is, “Do not be overcome by evil, rather overcome evil with good,” from Romans 12:21. He feels inspired by men who have struggled through adversity to achieve. In his spare time, Mr Quail teaches underprivileged children at his parish, St Charles.

He feels that we are home to the children who attend our School; the spirit of care that is present here at Marist Brothers Linmeyer is a rare thing.
