Mr Nicholas Shipton

Mr Shipton joined Marist Brothers Linmeyer  in 2019 in his first post since completing his studies with a Bachelors of Education Honours degree. He is currently teaching Dramatic Arts to Grade 8, Mathematical Literacy to Grades 10 and 11 and Grade 10 Advanced Programme Mathematics. He has a passion for engaging in Mathematics at a conceptual level. He was drawn to our School through positive experience with our School, including a Career Day when he was in Grade 9. Mr Shipton also had a wonderful, practical teaching experience during his studies. He finds the staff and students a delight.

Mr Shipton is inspired by people who face the adversity that comes their way in life and who become stronger through these difficulties. His hobbies include Reading, Hiking, Fishing, Gaming, podcasts and immersing himself in Internet culture. He also loves the Dramatic Arts. His favourite quote is from Antoine de Saint-Exupery: “If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
