Mrs Stansfield took up the position of HOD Humanities in the middle of 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Psychology, both areas that she is extremely passionate about; an Honours degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education that she obtained from UNISA. She joined Marist Brothers Linmeyer in 2002 and is currently teaching Geography to Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Mrs Stansfield is passionate about every aspect of Geography but she is most interested in teaching Climatology, Geomorphology and Map work.
She instils a hunger and thirst for learning in her students, but most importantly, a hunger and thirst to live a life, filled with love, laughter, happiness and respect: she believes that we should, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
She is a committed, Co-worker, staff member. Mrs Stansfield loves Reading, Reading and of course, Reading. She also enjoys watching Cooking, Baking and Home Improvement channels on TV. Besides her husband and two children, her two-year-old grandson is her one true love in this world – her divine gift. Her favourite Bible verse is, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7: 7-12. Mrs Stansfield is inspired by Equality and respects people who treat everyone with the same love and respect that they expect.
Some interesting facts that people may not know about Mrs Stansfield are that she “met” Nelson Mandela when they greeted each other at the Milpark Hospital, one of the highlights of her life since she had tremendous respect for him. She was struck by lightning on the Primary School Field at a Champagnat Carnival some years ago – luckily for her, only the good die young.
