Mrs van Rensburg started her teaching career at Marist Brothers Linmeyer in 1991 and is currently in her 30th year at the School – a most commendable achievement. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from UNISA and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Educational Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Besides teaching the Guidance discipline of Life Orientation to Grades 9, Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12, Mrs van Rensburg is the staff member in charge of Educational Assessments for Accommodations for students. She instils a sense of work ethic, values and pride in her students. Her involvement in and commitment to the latter has resulted in many students benefitting from accommodations and improving their scholastic performance throughout their high school years.
Mrs van Rensburg has a passion for educational development and identification of learning difficulties, preparation for subject choices and university readiness. Her hobbies include Reading and Traveling. Her favourite quote is, “Promise me, you’ll always remember; you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think,” by A.A. Milne. Mrs van Rensburg feels inspired by people who follow their dreams and do not give up – no matter what. She feels that Marist Brothers Linmeyer truly cares about each person’s well-being and development.
