Ms Siobhan Wood

Mrs Wood (Calitz) joined Marist Brothers Linmeyer in 2015 as an Intern Psychologist in the High School. She qualified with a Masters in Education (Educational Psychology) as well as a Bachelor of Education Honours (Educational Psychology) both from the University of Johannesburg. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychometry and Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology both from the University of Johannesburg. Mrs Wood also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education qualification that qualifies her to teach both Life Orientation and English.

Mrs Wood (Calitz) has been trained in Ericksonian hypnosis, ego-state therapy and narrative therapy. She incorporates elements of creative expressive arts into her therapeutic interventions. Her interests lie in attachment theory, neuropsychology, ego-state therapy, play therapy and providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents who have experienced developmental trauma.

Mrs Wood is able to provide therapeutic support for emotional, social, behavioural and learning difficulties. She can administer psycho-educational assessments to gain information regarding a child or adolescent’s strengths, areas of development and appropriate support interventions. Referrals to other specialists are made when necessary.

She loves Animals, the Outdoors and Nature. Her hobbies are Reading, Dancing (Ballet) and going to the Theatre. Her favourite quote comes from the Bible, “All who are wise show him reverence,” taken from Job 37: 24. The Family Spirit and Mr Norton’s Servant Leadership style are what attracted her Marist Brothers Linmeyer.
